> Pre-built items now fully work: build a pack once and drop it into any quote in one click.

Hey everyone,

Here are the updates from the last two weeks of PRINTOOLS. Pre-built items now fully work, job sheets have arrived, invoices reach Xero far cleaner, and PRINTOOLS can now connect to AI assistants and your other tools.

## Highlights

## Quoting and pricing

* **Pre-built items.** Build a set of garments and decorations once, such as a staff uniform pack or an event bundle, save it, and drop the whole thing into any quote in one click. Pre-built items are now searchable, work with AS Colour garments, carry your margin on decorations, and always show up in the list once saved. They're built with the same tools as a normal quote, so pricing and margins match to the cent.
* **Override a sell price.** Type in the price you actually want to charge, which retail shops in particular have been waiting for.
* **Markups by quantity and cost.** Instead of one flat rate, set a grid so cheaper garments or bigger runs carry a different markup automatically.
* **Markups stay put.** Reopening a line on a saved quote keeps your markup rules applied, including markups carried in from a pre-built item, so quotes can't go out underpriced.
* **Decoration position is one field.** It used to be a dropdown plus a separate placement box, and picking "Other" lost the actual position. It's now a single field with suggestions that also accepts anything you type.

See the [Quoting guide](/guides/quoting) for more.

## Job sheets and documents

* **Job sheets are here.** A third document type alongside quotes and invoices, in customer and staff versions, downloadable straight from the job.
* **One print spec, everywhere.** Decoration details (size, position, colours and screens) are now one set of fields carried from the quote to the job to the proof, in centimetres throughout, so nothing drifts between stages.

## Mock-ups and proofs

* Mocks can be edited from the quote and the mocks table.
* An approved mock is locked. Once it's signed off it can't be quietly changed, and a new version replaces it instead.
* Roll-up works per decoration, so one embroidery can fold into the garment price while the screen print beside it stays itemised.

See [Proofs and approvals](/guides/proofs-and-approvals) for more.

## Invoicing and Xero

Invoices pushed to [Xero](/integrations/apps/xero) now arrive the way they should:

* Unit prices arrive at the right price, instead of 10% higher.
* Every line keeps its quantity, so 74 × \$2.66 stays as it is rather than collapsing into one line.
* The business is booked as the customer, with the contact person in the right field.
* Multi-group quotes arrive grouped, not as one flat list.

Also new:

* The quote Reference carries through to the Xero invoice.
* Invoice status shows on Job Details and the jobs list, and you can sort by it.
* Choose per contact whether they receive accounting emails.

## A public API and an AI connection

PRINTOOLS now has a [public API](/guides/api-access) and an [MCP server](/mcp/overview). MCP is the standard that lets AI assistants like Claude talk to a product directly. In practice, PRINTOOLS can now plug into your other tools and into AI assistants, with a proper sign-in flow so you approve access with your existing PRINTOOLS login rather than handing over a password.

Managing your own API keys from Settings follows in the next release.

## Integrations and payments

* [Zapier](/integrations/apps/zapier) is now live.
* Connecting a payment account is much simpler: the identity check asks only for what's actually required.

## Catalogue and smaller fixes

* Garment pickers and supplier counts load in pages, so they're noticeably quicker on big catalogues like AS Colour.
* Job board cards show the total garment quantity.
* List tables no longer flash "empty" for a second on every page load.
* The onboarding video plays properly and no longer leaves an overlay stuck on screen.

Questions on any of this? Just ask. And thanks for all the feedback that shaped this release.

With love from Kenny @ PRINTOOLS
