Hey everyone, Here are the updates for the latest version of PRINTOOLS. Custom fields have arrived on quotes and production tasks, new quotes and jobs can start from your shop's own defaults, and you can now see who else has a quote open. > [!WARNING] > > **Heads up:** jobs now show their quote's status instead of the old Invoice Status, which never updated. You'll see it in the jobs table, on the board and on Job Details. ## Highlights > **[Custom fields](#quotes-and-jobs)** > > Add your own fields to quotes and production tasks. > **[Shop defaults](#settings)** > > New quotes, jobs and decorations start from the defaults you set. > **[See who's on a quote](#quotes-and-jobs)** > > The quote header shows who else has the quote open. > **[An easier portal](#client-portal)** > > One-size garments skip the size step, and multi-colour lines are sized one colour at a time. ## New features ### Quotes and jobs * **Custom fields.** Set them up in **Settings → Custom fields**, then fill them in on quotes and production tasks. * **See who else is on a quote.** The quote header shows who else has it open, so two people don't end up editing at once. * **Mock builder over the quote.** The mock builder opens on top of the quote, so you never lose your place. The Mock Builder list shows preview thumbnails and the quote each mock belongs to, and exports one mock at a time. * **Purchase Orders tab on jobs.** Every purchase order for a job in one list. Click a row to open it. * **Generate invoice from a job.** It's now in the job's Actions menu. * **Custom garments and decorations on jobs.** Edit Job and Create Job can add a custom garment or a custom decoration, just like a quote. * **Type a decoration's price.** Type a decoration's unit price and setup charge directly, and they stay as typed after a reload. ### Settings * **Defaults.** A new **Settings → Defaults** page, so new quotes, jobs and decorations start the way your shop works. * **Proof terms.** **Settings → Proof Settings** has its own Proof Terms, shown on your proofs. ### Search * Global search finds markup groups, quote search matches your customers' contacts, and job search matches the customer and their contacts. ### Pricing and markup * Before you save a decoration that no markup group covers, on a quote or a pre-built item, PRINTOOLS asks first, so nothing is sold at cost by accident. * In the markup group editor, select every decoration of one method in one go. Markup groups are now listed A to Z. ## Improvements ### Client portal * One-size garments read "One size × qty" and no longer ask the client to confirm sizes. * A line in several colours is sized one colour at a time, and each colour keeps its own total. ### Quote documents * Quote documents and PDFs leave out empty groups, and print the quote number and reference once. * The send quote preview shows the quote number once. ### Dashboard and reports * Dashboard pipelines count the same quotes as their KPI tiles and wear status colours, and the quotes funnel counts every stage a quote reached. * Each quote status has its own colour, and a converted quote whose job was deleted says "Job deleted". * Saved Sales dashboards use the current Pipeline by stage cards, and report cards share one loading message. ### Catalogue * The garments list shows stock in its Status column, 20 rows per page. * After a bulk import, the result panel shows and Undo stays within reach. * Legend Life costs fill in automatically on new lines. * The daily AS Colour price sync is more reliable. ### Xero * Lines over 100 units arrive in [Xero](https://docs.printools.io/integrations/apps/xero.md) with their real quantities. * Contact people merge correctly with your existing Xero contacts. * Status changes on invoices already in Xero now go through. ### Look and feel * Pinning a column moves it to the front, hidden columns can always be brought back from Columns, and scroll bars appear on hover. * Double-tap to zoom in the image viewer. * Purchase order lines are listed in size order. * Job sheets have no blank size columns and no lookalike placements. * Calendar views open by the Show by you saved. * Password managers can fill in sign-up, and the password rules are on screen. * Added to a phone's home screen, the app is called PRINTOOLS. * Pressing Enter in a multi-line field inside a window adds a new line. * A tidier pre-built item editor. ## Bug fixes > **Quotes and jobs** > > * Quote and job numbers are never reused, even after one is deleted. > * Changing a quote's status to Sent, one at a time or in bulk, records when it was sent. > * Quotes left stuck after a void or an undone payment are back on Sent. > * Changes to an open quote show straight away. > * Job decorations no longer ask for an artwork file. > * Deleting a sent proof, and its job, now works. > * Connected apps can no longer edit a paid quote. > * The void window's wording matches the invoice. > **Settings** > > * Settings → Email, Integrations, Accounting and Defaults show your real settings on first load and after switching shops. > * Connecting an app during sign-up keeps your place through onboarding. ## Behind the scenes > **Reliability and upkeep** > > No visible change here, but plenty of work keeping PRINTOOLS quick and reliable: faster bulk actions for big shops, steadier saving when several people work on one quote, and clearer error logs.
